When my Tyler and I were looking through the submissions for a free book cover, we narrowed it down to two, but couldn't narrow it further. So, since one was to be published in paperback, and the other was to be an e-book, I decided to do both!
First, the paperback is "The Princess and the Sage," a fun and quirky nonsense story by Anneliese Blakeney. At this point, I am working on prototype design while she finalises the book's insides. We have one design that has already gotten a pretty good thumbs up, but I'm still exploring other options. No thumbnail to share yet, but stay tuned!
Second, the e-book is "A Purple and Gold Afghan and Other Stories," a delightful collection of three short stories by Jordan Smith. (HWers may be familiar with these stories as the "Bellwether Short Story Anthology.") The cover design for this is complete and publication is forthcoming.
And third, if you haven't noticed, I added a page called "Book Design." I'm offering custom cover design and artistic internal layout, and that's where you can read all about it.
If you or someone you know has a book in the works, make sure to stay tuned. Sometime in the near future, I'll be giving someone a free artistic internal layout, Lord willing.
I'm very happy you're launching out with your book design, Perry. :D And, being a fan/friend of Jordan's, I was delighted to see you did the cover for his new book!
ReplyDeleteLove your new blog design, also! Very fitting.
