"Moving On"

They left the grassy and fertile fields of Missouri - left their prosperous farm, a booming community, a caring church - left a comfortable life behind them.  Mr. Bryson said it was time to go, and Mrs. Bryson not only trusted her husband's judgement, but understood his need to keep moving.  It seemed they were always settling in and moving on.  But Mrs. Bryson didn't mind.  She had no children or family to tie her anywhere.  As a channel of water flowed from the pump into her pail, her mind began to wander over the past and into the future.

Will Bryson had told her from the start that they would often be going.  He had never lived a quiet or settled life.  His life had been harsh and cheerless until he met pretty 16 year old Mary Bryson.  Even after their marriage, life had been a struggle.

  1. Nice job, Jordanna! Definitely makes me want to know what is going to happen to them. Great job using your random words, too. They fit in quite nicely.

Nice job. They are pioneers, right? I like that time period, although, I might not if I were a pioneer, it would be sooo hard like you said in your story.
